"I went to one of her evening presentations on
the 2012 Mayan/Celtic connections and weaving all these signs of doom and gloom into something healing and positive for ourselves and Gaia, and I found it to be truly inspirational. I can't put into words what I
have been thinking and pondering over since the talk at the Morris Hall, but it was just FAB and so I urge people to grab Edie, go to a
workshop or presentation while she's in the UK and be inspired!"

2012: Co-Creating a Conscious Future

You may have heard dire predictions about year 2012, but in this workshop we will explore paths to a positive future, with the goals of contributing to an awakening of consciousness and creating a global shamanic, Earth-honoring culture.

Evening presentation --  2012: Peruvian Shamanism, Celtic Visions, and the Mayan Calendar

Friday,  October 17, 2008, 7:30 pm, at Caritas Spiritist Center

Benefit for Rio Las Piedras Rainforest Sanctuary

A short overview of the astronomical alignments in 2012 and themes from the Mayan calendar.  We will also compare Merlin's prophesies and other Celtic legends about this time of change.  Then we will explore positive views of the future from Andean mystical traditions and Peruvian shamanic practices.

Donations will be gratefully received to benefit:

1. Caritas Spiritist Center, to support their free healing work in the community

2. The Rios Las Piedras Rainforest Sanctuary Project, which is The Heart of the Healer (THOTH) Foundation's fundraising effort to preserve 15,000 acres of pristine rainforest in Peru on Rio Las Piedras.  This project combines exceptional bio-diversity, support for the local community, and educational outreach.

THOTH only has until October 30 to raise $105,000 to preserve this land from commercial development, so please give generously at the benefit or on-line at http://www.HeartOfTheHealer.org, click on Rio Las Piedras.

Sunday workshop -- 2012: Co-Creating a Conscious Future

October 19, 2008, 10 am to 5 pm, at Caritas Spiritist Center

In this experiential workshop we will:
• Learn Earth-honoring practices for personal and planetary healing
          from Peruvian shamanic traditions
• Cultivate sacred reciprocity:  Rituals for Mother Earth
• Receive luminous energy rites of the Q’ero Indians
• Learn lessons from Condor, Eagle, Owl & Dragon:
          Rebalancing masculine & feminine
          Reconnecting mind, heart & body
• Explore remedies for cultural soul-loss
• Re-vision the future

The workshop will focus on Peruvian shamanic traditions, but we will also honor the native wisdom material of ancient Britain, with focus on the life and prophetic visions of Merlin.  This is not the familiar Merlin of Authurian romance, but the primal Merlin, the Welsh Merlin, who emerges from the writings of Geoffrey of Monmouth.  We will also listen to the ancient wisdom embedded in the Welsh folk tale of the Marriage of Eagle and Owl.

Information from  The Heart of the Healer (THOTH) website about Rio Las Piedras

http://www.heartofthehealer.org/programs/rio-las-piedras.php

It's a jungle out there! . . . But not for long.

90% of the Earth's remaining rainforest is predicted to disappear by the year 2020

With your help we can reduce that number by over 15,000 acres immediately

Through our relationship with Robin Van Loon in Puerto Maldonado, serendipitous events have converged in the opportunity to purchase 15, 224 acres of endangered rainforest on the Rio Las Piedras in the Peruvian Amazon. This offer is available to THOTH until the end of October. After that the owners will potentially have to sell to those uncommitted to maintaining an ecologically mindful approach to conservation, eco-tourism and the preservation of indigenous cultures. Add in the trans-oceanic highway cutting through this area and you can count on its destined demise. The cost to transform the situation from destruction to restoration: $105,000. A very reasonable price to pay considering the Amazon rainforest generates over 20% of the oxygen you breathe.

After a visit to the land Robin reports, "I saw a greater diversity and density of animals here than I've ever seen along the Tambopata River. Going out into the jungle, spider monkey sightings are almost a given, even within 100 meters of the lodge. Howler monkeys wake you up out of bed in the morning with their eerie alien chant. We saw tocon monkeys feeding on fruits at the edge of the lodge's clearing. We saw jaguar tracks, wild pigs clicked their jaws nearby, and macaws and parrots were a common sight flying overhead in pairs at sunset." You can feel yourself there looking through Robin's eyes. Yet do you know 137 species of plants and animals go extinct every day.

All is not lost. You continually demonstrate your commitment to the restoration of our planet through your support of our earth stewardship programs. We thank you from the depths of our heart for your generosity. So it is imperative, in humble service, that we make this urgent appeal for your assistance to purchase and protect the rare biodiversity of the Rio Las Piedras environment. Your much needed contribution to Pachamama's protection is greatly appreciated. We can co-create a destiny of hope with your support.

It is highly unlikely that another opportunity of this scope and at a cost that is within our grasp will be found. As founder, Oscar Miro-Quesada frequently says: "Now is the time and the time is now". Let us join together in this great undertaking and bring into being our vision and our destiny: Preserving Indigenous Cultures, Restoring our Earth!
